ya, u can whisper me aswell,
Names Tanner Ogannon, in the guild Forgotten Footsteps.
My friends and I all bought GW for our birthdays, but we got it early, and recieved it on the same day. I am currently lvl 14, and the highest is lvl 16, I think...he hasent been on for a day... Anyways.

our guild is Very talkative..except for 1, which is all "yur gay" or stuff like that. But, nevertheless, we are, for the mostpart, a very civilized guild. If anyone is to join, we would usually have to warm up 2 u first, but after we get well aquanted with you, or any other forign (out of friend circle) player, we would treat you like you were our best friend. Since I am guild leader, I could make an exception (we were going to start recruiting at level 20) but, I would make an excepion in your case. So, if you would like to join our guild, I bet my friends would treat you respectively, and If u want to...
Whisper Tanner Ogannon, Isaac Ogannon, or Monk of Doom, whichever I am on.

I think a large majority of the time inter group conflicts like mentioned in this post arise because you have 2 different types of players that are forced to play together and NEITHER of the two groups want to adjust to the others play style.
This makes sense, and that was a better explanation of your points. Unfortunately the group that would like to take things a little slower or easier always has to adjust to the rusher's way of playing, and never the other way around.

Fwiw, in a mission/quest I'm not interested in trying to "to sit around and chit chat" either... that's what towns are for. But I would like to be able to read NPC text, stop at collectors, pick up dropped loot, look in chests, read signs and markers, allow my energy to recharge and watch the cinematic cutscenes without being hassled or pressured about it.

Tonight one pushy guy in a major hurry decided that the group didn't need the bonus (though it was advertised that we were doing it) because he just wanted to "get to the <expletive> town!" and then threatened anyone who didn't skip the cutscenes in a very abusive manner... so everyone skipped them just to avoid the grief.

That kinda shit gets really tiring, and I don't appreciate having to put up with or be the grief bucket for those playing a game that "forces them to play something they don't want to play." They should just stop playing then.

I have a high level Death Magic N/Mo, and in the vast majority of groups I've joined, by the time I've raised a corpse or two my party is usually off the compass with me catching up to clean up the mess they've made and heal them. That's a choice to leave me behind out of impatience, not a game design flaw or necessity. I've been in groups that didn't rush, and they appreciated the army of minions following close behind and we had a lot fun.

People that want to take it slow and relaxed should be able to easily group with likeminded people. Similarly, people that need to just run through the mission quickly should be able to find likeminded people easily or not be forced to run through the missions over and over in the first place.
There is - you can still chat in outposts.

Over half the grief about bad PUG can be avoided if people would just learn to communicate a little with the group before they hit that "enter mission" button.
And don't be afraid to kick/leave.

This isn't about whether PvE is important or whether they should allow rushing.

We don't mind other people rushing, we're just looking to find people that don't want to rush.

If you want a thread about rushing just post a thread titled, "I'm sick of slow missions," and have a go. It's almost guaranteed there are a lot of people that feel that way. You could set up groups of people that way and I'd be happy for you.

For those of us that want to take it a little slower because we want to enjoy the missions in our own way we have this thread.

I feel that if you want a fast/slow group it's just important to advertise it that way when you're looking for other people so you all get on the same page.

Thumbs up

Amen!

I completely agree. I would far rather take my time and explore missions (even ones I have done ) than I would race to the end.

Not saying which approach is best, just what I like.

If anyone wants to hook up I am currently a E/Mo15 around Lions Arch. Happy to come back and rerun any quests I have covered with a good group!

ya,
last night I was doing a mission with other strager players, and after the first try,we failed. When we got back to the outpost, I went to the storage to empty out my inventory, do some salvaging etc. B the time I was finished doing all of that. I looked up, and it said 2 seconds until mission start. I felt very rushed, but I got done in time.

All of this just illustrates how badly this game needs a KICK BUTTON for in the missions, done by a majority vote. Someone who spews abuse for watching the cutscenes needs to get booted from a party real quick.
Btw, I would watch every single cutscene just to annoy the guy. His needs are not greater than my fun.

Anet, GIVE US A KICK BUTTON.

I have watched many cut scenes more then once. I will not click until I am the last one because some people like to see those. They also are a nice way of taking break for a min. Go to the bathroom, light up a smoke, shake off the arthritis pain in your joints. To bad we can't type during those scenes. We at least on TS talk about the next part of the mission coming up.

You could just as easily argue that you're being selfish for taking so long and wasting everyone's time. It goes both ways. Stop trying to pretend like the game is perfect. I'm not bashing GW if that's what is upsetting you so much. I think it's a great game but that doesn't mean it's perfect and this is one case where is it is definitely not perfect.

And yes you can do many of the missions with henchmen but it takes much longer and in some cases is near impossible depending on your class. Furthermore, just because you don't like to be social means you can't play in a group with real players instead of henchies with horrible AI? You don't to be social in when running a mission to reap the benfits of having real players rather than henchies...
It is not a matter of perception - the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few. When a player places their needs before the needs of the group that is being selfish, regardless of their motivation. And almost every time it is the rushers who are the ones pressuring the group to hurry. I realize the game has it's problems. In fact, I don't think I've seen a perfect game to date (~20 years of gaming), although there are a few that have come pretty close. What irritates me is excusing selfish behavior on the basis that it's a problem with the game, not the player base. I'm not talking about the people who don't like to chat it up during a mission (I'm one of them, actually) but people who have no patience with others. You see, I've often rushed though at the behest of others, without complaint, but I have yet to see a rusher say "I'm sorry, am I going to fast? Let's take it a little slower."

Where is the middle ground? Why do you only acknowledge the two extremes, the rushers or the socialites, PvP vs. PvE? I'm willing to bet that most of us don't want to spend all day on one mission, but I'm also sure that most of us don't want to complete the mission and have the only thing we gained from it be that our position on the map has changed and we have some more xp/loot now. Some of us on our 2nd/3rd/4th character who enjoy PvP still want to play the game. Sure it would be great if Anet could put together a more robust LFG system, but there's really already something that can be done: "Group forming for mission & bonus, we won't be rushing through" - it's not too hard, but you still get the people who join your group and then want to rush through and skip the bonus once you get in there. And therein lies the real problem, in my opinion. And that is: selfish players.
